53M1 Redesign

This is the one where Jon talks about his new blog design.

It has been about 4 months since 53M1 first launched. I think it is finally time for a new design. After drawing many random sketches of the new theme, I decided to go with this one. So without further ado, I present you with the changes beneath the comestics.

For those who are lazy there is a bullet point summarizing all this below all this.

First of all, yes it is still running under Wordpress 2.1. It is also based on another design based on Scott Wallick’s “brilliantness”. In this case Simplr.

One of the obvious new features is the “summary of the post” if that’s what you want to call it. If you don’t know, it’s that grey box above this post, and beneath the post title. It is as the name suggest, the “summary of the post…”. It was inspired by non other then Bryan Veloso of Avalonstar.

I have removed the then dying “elsewhere” with just my Del.icio.us account since I update del.icio.us more anyway. Scroll down for the links. I have also removed the dying twitter for now.

I have also included my Flickr feed beside my del.icio.us links.

The new comment theme is similar to Stammy’s. No I did not steal his code. It is a template from a tutorial that I found a couple days ago.

I have also removed the Digg button, since it was sadly useless.

Now for the lazy arses that was not lazy to scroll down to my wrap up, a simple bullet point!

Added

Removed

Hope you like the new theme! Tell me what you think =D

Converting DivX to WMA and Other Codec (Win) For Free

Lets jump right in. First of all this is for Windows only (you need win movie maker… I know that’s horrible). Ok what you need…

  • Theorica DivX (Direct download link)
  • Windows Movie Maker
  • DivX Video (Get good quality DivX video at stage 6. Watch T.V shows and stuff)
  • MadSkillzZ (Which you have ;)

Now the easy peasy steps.

  1. Download, unzip, and install the Theorica DivX
  2. Rewrite the DivX suffix to .AVI
  3. Import to WMM (Windows Movie Maker)
  4. Export movie
  5. There you go. Pat yourself in the back.

Now why would you do this? Personally I used this to transfer a DivX video over to rockbox. You though can let your imagination fly. Maybe to put DivX video in your iPod? (Eeewww. No offense to Apple.)

Additional steps.

kk thx bye now lol.

BTW if you’re having trouble try deleteing ffdshow.ax. Its inside the folder where Theorica is installed.

Thanks to Sum Dude over at MovieCodec.com

Samsung s850 - A First Look

About 5 years ago I met you my dear old friend. We had many fun and sad times these past few years. I feel that our time together is now over. I am sorry to say but after all those days where you couldn’t come through for me have finally pushed me to the end. I am sorry dear friend, but I must get my new camera…

Hmmm… Writing a message to an old camera… How nerdy can it be? Well now that is off my chest, its time to talk about my new best friend, I mean camera. The Samsung s850. Yes it is not as fanciful as a Sony or a Canon, but it is as strong as those big ol’ DSLR. Well not really but still, its feature is tough to beat for its price. Since we’re talking about price, I might as well mention that this 8.1MP beauty is only around $180? Or in my case only $159 at B&H photo. But they say mega pixels isn’t everything; I believe that is true. That’s why I chose this bad boy. Like those big ol’ DSLR this camera can do Shutter and Aperture priorities
