Today I’ll be continuing my rambling on Blog Edition. If you haven’t read part 1, let’s catch you up. Last time I talked about how I needed to be more personal with my blog and create better content. So here’s more of my resolutions.
Promises
When I first started making the blog I tried to keep the “Bloggers code”. I was naive and to ideal. I tried to write on a time schedule, but I didn’t think about my offline life. I told my readers that I would write more, but sadly my offline life prevented it. Day by day went by and I didn’t follow through with my promise. Later I tried again, and failed again. Finally I realized that don’t make promises unless you are sure you can keep them.
But promising more post is not the only promise that I kept that I shouldn’t have. Promises such as follow ups are also a mess. Unless you are sure you can take the time to do what you need to do, don’t do it. I guess in a way making parts to this series was also a gamble. Then again this might be just me. But still, I’m sure readers will more likely to stay on a blog that doesn’t post as much than a blog which lies. And this also applies to real life too. Don’t make empty promises.
Take Pictures
As you can tell I make a lot of things with my hand. from my wallets, to cases and such. They say I am part of that generation that really wants to create an identity for themselves. Half the things I made doesn’t even get to the blog because it either was a failure or because I didn’t have pictures for it. Sure I can take pictures of it after it’s is finished but, unless it’s a simple DIY, no one will gain anything from it. Which relates to my tip from part 1, Write what you will want to read. So learning from this time and time again, I’ll try to take pictures at everything.
Of course lots of it will be deleted. If you’re like me, and most of your plans doesn’t work out as well as you thought it would be, lots of your pictures will go to waste. But if it works out, then you have something to post on your blog. But sometimes, failures can be a positive. Like this post, your failings could lead to lessons. And pictures of your screwed up creative project will help someone else that is thinking about making the same thing.
Conclusion
This concludes part 2 of my resolutions. I’m not sure if the series will continue. But for now, I wish you a happy new year. Stay fresh, and warm ![]()
