2007 is coming to an end. It has been a great year, although deep in our hearts we all know that there are things to regret and things to improve on. Now all we need to do is get it together and plan for a better year. So here’s a few things I hope to improve on 53m1 this coming year.
Content
When I started this blog, I really didn’t know where I was headed. I didn’t know if I was going to use this to give my self an identity on the tubes, to showcase my art, or just because I’m following the band wagon.
I’ve read many tips on how to create a successful blog, this year. I realized that almost all of them suggested the few, same, simple, yet hard to follow tips. I think the most important ones are
- Writing with a time schedule- Don’t blog randomly, and try to keep a regular interval.
- Quality over quantity- Post when you have something to post about, not because you feel the need to have a perfect time schedule.
- Keep a good area of focus- Don’t post about random things, and try to keep a low set of categories.
- Socialize- Don’t expect people to just read your blog, you need to do the same and visit other blogs.
- Give something to the reader- Tutorials, DIY, a list of unusual stuff (have you checked DIGG lately?) and the likes are interesting.
- Don’t fret over web stats- Damn it Google analytics and your taunting numbers!
- And finally, do this for yourself, not because you want to get popular or to get money from ads. Lots of people get turned off from ad drowned stuff.
So I’ll be trying more next year to accomplish these things.
Although I am not yet a successful blogger, One tip I would like to give to all the other newbies like me is that, Don’t ask yourself what would make a great post, but ask, What do I want to read that I haven’t read yet, and I can write about. Whew that was a long tip.
Identity
After a couple months in the blogging industry, I realized how crucial it is to show your human side in your blog. After all, you are more likely to read something from someone you know thanĀ from a stranger that lives on the other side of the world.
I’ve always neglected my colophon. I always thought to myself, what if they judge me? What if they don’t like who I am offline? But I realized, this blog should be me online. Not just some faceless blog. Because if we fail to show who we really are, what’s the difference between us and those incorporated media? This is about independent media. What better way to show our independence than to show our identity. Now, I know you are all excited, but don’t get to personal and touchy, because you know, Michael Jackson online predators are out there. I’ll start by listing a few things about me
- My name is Jonathan Solichin.
- In the giant tubes we call the internet, they call me aerovolce.
- I am 14 years old.
- I live in the golden bear state.
- I’m Indonesian.
- I love music. I currently play guitar, bass, saxophone, bassoon, percussion, and piano.
- I’m currently studying the Japanese language with English, and Malay, already in in my arsenal.
Some of you might think “who’s going to read some useless info?” I used to think like that myself, until I realized, I do. I love reading people’s colophon. Not because I’m a stalker but because it is interesting to read who is behind a blog.
Conlusion
Now I don’t want to bore you guys out too much so, I’ll continue this next time. I know the suspense is killing right? I hope you guys will help me/join me, in creating a better blog.

P.S
Watch me this new year in the Rose Parade! I’ll be in the Arcadia High School Apache Marching Band. Wow that’s long name. Look for the kid with the giant ass instrument, dying. If you’re an online predator, don’t bother, AHS is a school with over 3800 students. =D
