What can better match my moleskine than an awesome flexible pen? I’ve always wanted a small pen I can carry around everywhere. This will solve my problem because it can flex so I can put it in my back pocket. To make it cooler, it even retracts! And don’t worry, if the pen breaks, there are many layers of paper to stop it from bleeding on your awesome pants. So let’s get started
What You Need
- a scissor or an x-acto blade and the like
- a ruler
- tape
- a piece of paper
- an old pen
- a brain and this tutorial to guide you
Step 1
First turn the paper into “landscape mode”, and mark an inch from the top of the left corner and an inch from the bottom of the right corner. Then fold the paper at those 2 points. Fold them well because you’re going to tear the paper on that line. You may tear the paper width wise if you want. The width determines the thickness of the pen.
Step 2
Get the inside of your pen and tape it to the small side of your wannabe triangle. The tip of the pen that you want to stick out should be on the outside of the edge. If you want you can shorten the “pen fill” to make the pen shorter.
Step 3
Roll the paper and use a chop stick or something similar to push the pen out. Then tape it up.
Step 4
Now trim the top of the pen somewhere close to the end of the backside of the pen.
Step 5
Enjoy your pen! To retract just press it down. To show the pen, just press the top.
Extra Credit
Draw some fancy artwork because you’re bored, or advertise your self by labeling it. I chose the latter.
