I know it’s a bit late, but I finally got around to uploading my pictures of the lunar eclipse. They aren’t the best by any means but hey, here’s what I did with my simple point and shoot camera with 5x zoom and 8.1 megapixels.

As you can see the pictures turned out very noisy (well, if you look at the full size), so I found this awesome free image noise reduction software (get Noiseware Community Edition). I’ve only ran one for comparison and, it seem to work well.

 You can see a faint difference in between the filtered image on the right and the non-filtered image on the left. I know it doesn’t take out all the noise but, this is just the default setting. If you buy the full version you can tweak the settings, and get even cleaner. But for a free program, it certainly is unique and worth using. I recommend you trying it out for yourself.
