A couple day ago, I finished creating my 2nd tutorial for PSDTUTS, my first being “How To Create An Old-World Map In Photoshop“. So what’s the result? Well it’s the post’s header image. Well it’s not up yet, but just a heads up.

Digsby

Secondly, if you haven’t heard, Digsby just got out of its private beta. If you don’t know what Digsby is, here’s my review. It’s now open for everyone. So incase you weren’t able to use it before, you can try now. There’s some pretty interesting update like video chat, twitter integration, an inline spell checking, and lots more. It also added the ingenious feature of Fullscreen preferences. The first I’ve seen, and no doubt a useful feature to gamers and movie watchers a like.

Press Release

With today’s launch, Digsby leaves private beta testing and introduces several highly requested features
including Twitter support, inline spell check and real time audio/video chat across IM networks through a
partnership with TokBox. The new features expand on the existing solution, which aims to simplify the
management of multiple online accounts. User benefits include:

  • One combined buddy list for AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Google Talk, and Jabber accounts with duplicate
  • contact merging, tabbed conversation windows and two way SMS from within the IM window
  • New e-mail alerts for Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, AOL/AIM Mail, IMAP, and POP accounts, as well as,
  • an Inbox Snapshot view that allows users to perform actions like “Mark as Read” and “Report Spam” with
  • one click
  • Real time newsfeed for Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter friend events like status changes, new photos, and
  • upcoming birthdays, along with alerts for events like friend requests, new messages, and group invites
  • Personalized look and feel with various application skins, conversation themes, and extensive buddy list
  • layout options

“Online account management is cumbersome due to lack of interoperability and the need to manage accounts
across multiple mediums,” said Steve Shapiro, president of dotSyntax, “We think Digsby will be the preferred
platform for high efficiency digital communication through our easy-to-use combined account management and
integration.”

I think this I great, and they are once again, advancing them self in the game. They even brought me back to twitter after a long hiatus. Again, I wish them great luck, as I see potential. If you haven’t tried it out, you should.
