Many people ask the question “why am I here (on earth)?”, but I think it is also as important to ask “how did I get here (and how did I become me)?” because sometimes we need to look back and see that our life hasn’t been one mistake after another. What do you guys think?

Damn this website is hot! No? +)
Seriously, they’re almost certainly entwined. Assuming for the moment that there is no mind/body duality, then there is only the body. Subsequently, any investigation into the why necessarily crosses into an investigation of the how.
Trying to figure this out myself. I mentioned on Thame’s site just now that I’ll be reading something from Antonio Damasio, among the current neurophilosophy rock stars, since he is regarded as an excellent source for popular investigation.
Cheers,

haha, why thank you
I agree. Personally, I’m still skimming the water and haven’t went into books and research yet on the subject of neurophilosophy. In fact I wasn’t even aware of such subjects exploring these things exist :X! I’m sorry but I’m not familiar with Antonio Damasio’s work. Please tell me how it is when you’re finished. Looking forward to his opinions of neurophilosophy. Your input is much appreciated!
