Thanks for the thorough review.
Just to say, I have a BE7926 and it does take a bit to boot up. But finding signal takes about 1 to 2 minutes. Here in EU.
I do have couple of questions.
Does anyone know where to find Russian maps which go with this particular model (the whole Russia, not just the Western part of it)?
And I have been reading about the hacking and stuff, but I havent actually understood more than that You can put other systems to work on it and thats basically it (
I am looking for this information solely because I am going to take a road trip in Russia and I need good maps AND I would really appreciate, if I could use my unit, instead of buying another one….

Hi. I live in Scotland and have one of these sat navs with Europe maps. Visiting states in two weeks and would like to load up US maps. Does not matter how old the maps are as we will by travelling by bus and it would be good to know where we are.

I just purchased 4 of the 7934’s for < $60 from Tech4less. They all seem to work fine, and lock into the sats within about 1 minute or less. Came with 1.0 maps, that do have a few routing quirks at times. I called Becker US (201) 961-1390, and was told that the new maps will be out in 4 months and available on the mybecker website. Does anyone have the European maps?
