Catch-22

True age is not measure by how long you have lived, but rather, how long you have to live. So I was reading Catch-22 by Joseph Heller and one of it’s passage opened my eyes. Trough a page of confusing conversation, I was inspired to write that quote. Catch-22, is a great book, a tough one, but I recommend it to anyone into philosophy and nonesense.

Why Bother?

There’s an old Christian arguement which says the reason you don’t see God is because you’re not trying to look for him and that you need to pray and ask for him. The atheist then would say “why would I want to do something for something I don’t even know exist?”. Today I think I stumbled on a reply. When Columbus sailed the ocean blue did he know something was out there as a fact? Now I’m not trying to convert you or anything, I’m just saying :)

Truth Vs. Happiness

Which one would you rather have? I think subconsciously we pick happiness. After all that’s what being politically correct is all about. We sort of hide the truth so no one’s feeling would be hurt and we would all be happy. But if we hide the truth/problem, then we can’t solve it. So if you were to be asked which you would rather have which one would you choose? In other words, politically correct or brutally honest?

On The Illusion of Freewill

There are people in this life who think that our freewill might be an illusion. Me included. Often the analogy used is that we’re basically living in a maze. Sure we can make this or that turn, but no matter where we turn the path ahead has already been laid out. But the question is, is it possible to break the wall of the maze? And if it is, does breaking it send you to another maze? Or does it just let you roam free outside?

Hostmonster

If you are reading this you are lucky. My hosting provider (Hostmonster) has been very unreliable lately. It was down for almost a day yesterday and still crawling today. I don’t recommend them. Sorry if you weren’t able to reach me then.

Question on Life

Many people ask the question “why am I here (on earth)?”, but I think it is also as important to ask “how did I get here (and how did I become me)?” because sometimes we need to look back and see that our life hasn’t been one mistake after another. What do you guys think?
