Hello World: Revision 5 Unleashed!

Yes, we are finally live. After grueling hours and hours of painful coding, we are finished (or at least to my knowledge, comment if you find any bugs please, it would be much appreciated). How do you like it? Sorry the theme is going dark again. So if you’re a printing guy or some geek, you probably can tell what inspired the theme. For those who can’t tell, it’s inspired by CYMK. You know the new (sorta) RGB? But where is the “K” (black) you ask? Well after much consideration I decided that black is too common and won’t leave as a big impression. I chose brown even though there are several websites in brown because I wanted to keep the coloring dark as not to burn your eyes out. And plus it reminds you of, brownies, chocolates, cookies and all those good stuff.

Teaser: A Secret Behind the scene of the 5th Revision of the Blog

To tell you the truth, I wasn’t very satisfied with the current design I’ve set up a couple month ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve learned a lot, and It was good practice. But I think it’s a bit cramped and constricted.

Unlike this version, the new theme won’t be as 800×600 friendly. But I think it’ll be ok because more and more designer have stopped using that as the standard and moved on to 1024×798 as the screen size to design around. So here’s to a lot more cans of hydration and snacks to get me through the coding.

Rebirth!: 53m1 Becomes Novus.Volce

Happy almost 1st birthday 53m1/ Canabis Day (No I don’t smoke canabis, unfortunate isn’t it? But if you do, here’s your present. Sorry I couldn’t get you a canabis)! Yes you have stumbled upon 53m1, now renamed “novus.volce”. So After almost a year, I’ve decided to rebrand everything. An evolution if you will. What’s amazing is that coincidentally, this is the 51st post. (more…)

Upgrade complete!

Wordpress 2.5 Dashboard

Courtesy of Wordpress automatic upgrade plugin. It sure saved me from any problem. I was able to upgrade in about 3 clicks, without even thinking! Yes I do think.

The back end went through quite a refresh. Everything is brighter and more white. Although I’m quite indifferent about it. But as always I welcome a new design with open arms. As always is pretty slick and clean. There’s less blue and more white with a touch of gray. We’ll see how this new baby runs. For some reason, the really light baby blue color (Ex. the one on the header) doesn’t seem to show on my monitor. I had to re-calibrate my monitor and lower the contrast for it to appear. It looks much better with the baby blue, or else it is too white for me. But that’s just my preference. (more…)

53m1 Gets Woodified

Welcome to spring baby. Well maybe we’re a bit late. How about Happy Daylight Saving Time! (Did you forget to change your clock?) Anyway now that the day is getting brighter, I thought I should make the blog a bit brighter and cleaner (spring cleaning anybody?) too. Along with the changes comes good stuff. The blog no longer takes as much bandwidth as before because it doesn’t use that awesome but humongous background. Yes all this wood uses a small pattern. Also I made minor changes for our ie6 brethren. So how do you like the new theme? If you’re new, you can check out the previous background here. By the way did you know that in the U.S, DST actually starts at 2 a.m? Americans are always the oddball. Want to learn more about DST? Here’s a cool site that uses nodes/clouds to explain it.

Like the trees where wood comes from, let us grow as well. Cheese are cool stuff.

Thanks to Henri Liriani.
